Definition and Overview

Polynomial is a topic in algebra, which is a branch of mathematics. 

A polynomial is an algebraic expression comprising indeterminates (a.k.a. variables) and coefficients. In other words, a polynomial is a sum of many terms.

A polynomial involves arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and non-negative integer exponentiation of variables.
