Kids Wish Network’s Gift for Cody Monroe
Seventeen-year-old Green Bay Packers fan Cody Monroe recently received the surprise of a lifetime through Kids Wish Network.
Cody, who was born with kidney failure, had his only wish granted by spending the day with the Green Bay Packers.
When Cody arrived at Lambeau Field he was brimming with excitement. He had a full day ahead of him including a tour of the entire facility, watching the players practice, lunch with the team in their cafeteria, his own locker set up just like one if the players (jersey included), a one-on-one meet with many of the players, including Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews.
Cody, who has had two kidney transplants and on the waiting list for another, was also introduced to his favorite player on the practice field, Aaron Rodgers, and got to break up the team huddle.
“He really felt like he was part of the team,” Cody’s mother, Deborah said. “All of the players went out of their way to make him feel special, like he was one of them.”
This fun-loving and easy-going teen’s favorite part of the day was meeting Aaron Rodgers and having his own locker.
“Hanging out with the players in the cafeteria was my favorite part of the day, I couldn’t have asked for anything better,” Cody said. “Thank you Kids Wish Network for all that you do.”
Kids Wish Network made this announcement today, Sept. 30.
