HDFC to Launch its First School in Gurgaon
HDFC, a housing finance major, has announced its foray into the education sector by launching “The HDFC School”, its flagship school in Sector 57, Gurgaon, India.
Admissions for the same will commence from August 25, 2014 for academic session 2015-16 for classes Nursery to Class III.
The HDFC School will follow CBSE curriculum and shall be affiliated to CBSE and will offer schooling till class 12. The school is being set up by a trust with the management services being provided by HDFC Education and Development Services (HDFC Edu), a wholly owned subsidiary of HDFC Ltd.

“With the flagship school in Gurgaon, we aim to build a centre of educational excellence, the beacon of best practises in the education sector of the country,” said Ms. Renu Sud Karnad, managing director, HDFC Ltd. and who is leading HDFC’s foray in the education sector.

The School is being spearheaded by Mrs. Anita Makkar, an educationalist and academician. She is the former Founder Principal of DAV Public School, Sector – 14, Gurgaon.
The tuition fees will range from Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 7,500 p.m. with an additional annual fee and one time admission charges.
HDFC had earlier entered the education finance sector through its subsidiary, Credila Financial Services Private Limited. Credila is a fully dedicated education loan company in India.
