Girls Urged to Take Up the Profession of Photo Journalism
The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Vijay Sampla, stressed the need to inspire more girls to take up the field of photo journalism as photo journalists play a significant role in depicting the reality in a natural way.
He was addressing photo journalists after inaugurating a three-day photo exhibition on ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Khelo India Khelo’ in Chandigarh on Saturday. The exhibition was organized by the Photo Journalists Welfare Association.
He congratulated the organizers of photo exhibition for highlighting these issues along with there press photography duties which are too demanding.

The minister also urged them to motivate more girls to enter this enterprising field of photo journalism which is full of challenges as well as opportunities.
The president of The Photo Journalists Welfare Association, Akhilesh Mishra, spoke about the activities undertaken by the association in highlighting the issues of social concern.
As many as 88 photographs of 49 photo journalists are displayed in the exhibition from all over India and abroad.
