Special Teaching in Srinagar Schools Planned

As Kashmir has been facing an unprecedented unrest for the past over a month, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has planned to make special arrangements for teaching Class 12 students in Srinagar.

These students studying in five affiliated schools in Srinagar are affected by regular curfews, law and order problems, and disruptions in normal life of the public.

According to CBSE, the current situation has critically impacted Class 12 students, who have to appear for annual board examinations in March 2017 and several other competitive examinations.

As such, CBSE says, the schools are winter bound and are left with a limited time for teaching and completion of the course which have to be completed latest by October 2016.

Responding to the requests received from the schools, the Board has decided to arrange for subject teachers for all five schools in the valley which may take help after assessing the respective needs.

The Board is thus making efforts to engage and depute retired teachers from other parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Pathankot, Chandigarh, and has written to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for the same till the resumption of regular classes.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi said that every Indian loves Kashmir, and wishes to visit Kashmir. He said a few misguided elements were attempting to spoil the great traditions of Kashmir.

The Prime Minister said the Union Government wants to create employment opportunities for the youth of Kashmir. He appealed to the youth of Kashmir to come forward and move ahead with the vision of making Kashmir “heaven on earth.” He said Kashmir wants peace and the people of Kashmir want to earn more through tourism.

Modi said both the Centre and the J&K (Jammu & Kashmir) State Government are attempting to find a solution to all problems through development. He said former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision of Insaniyat, Jamahooriyat, Kashmiriyat will be taken forward.
