एक बहुत बड़ा जंगल था। इसमें बहुत से जानवर रहते थे और अधिकतर अनपढ़ थे। उनकी आबादी तेजी से बढ़ रही थी जिसके कारण वहाँ प्रगति रुक गयी थी।
जंगल का राजा सिंगराज जानवरों की बढ़ती संख्या को देख कर बहुत चिंतित था। इस समस्या को अपने मंत्रियों के साथ सोचने के बाद उसने माना कि जानवरों की बढ़ती संख्या को तभी रोका जा सकता है जब बहुत से जानवर शिक्षित हों।
“हम अपने जानवरों को अच्छी शिक्षा कैसे दे सकते हैं?” सिंगराज ने अपने मंत्रियों से पूछा।
“इतने बड़े जंगल में बहुत से स्कूल खोलना कठिन होगा और हमारे पास सिर्फ एक ही अच्छा अध्यापक मस्तू बंदर है,” मंत्रियों ने कहा।

मस्तू के लिए सब जानवरों की एक साथ क्लास लेना संभव नहीं था। और मस्तू के लिए यह भी संभव नहीं था कि वह इतने बड़े जंगल में घूम कर जानवरों को पढ़ा सके।
“हमें कोई रास्ता निकालना पड़ेगा क्योंकि शिक्षा बहुत जरूरी है,” सिंगराज ने कहा।
जब बहुत दिनों के बाद भी कोई हल नहीं मिला तो सिंगराज ने मस्तू की सलाह ली।
“यह मुश्किल समस्या है लेकिन इसे हल किया जा सकता है,” मस्तू ने आशा प्रकट की।
“कैसे?” सिंगराज ने पूछा।

“मैं जानवरों को सिर्फ एक जग़ह ही शिक्षा दूंगा। मेरी पढ़ाई को एक सूचना डिस्क पर डाल कर जंगल के अलग–अलग इलाकों में भेजा जायेगा जहाँ कंप्यूटर लगे होंगे। वहाँ जानवर आ कर अपनी सुविधा के अनुसार पढ़ सकेंगे,” मस्तू ने बताया।
सिंगराज बहुत खुश था। मस्तू की सलाह जल्दी ही लागू कर दी गयी। जानवर भी इस आधुनिक तरीक़े से पढ़ने के लिए उत्सुक थे। जल्दी ही शिक्षा सारे जंगल में फैलने लगी। और यही प्रगति की तरफ़ बढ़ता एक क़दम था…
टेक्नालजी: इ–शिक्षा – कंप्यूटर और इन्टरनेट की सहायता से इ–लर्निंग (इ–शिक्षा) द्वारा टीचर के बिना भी कक्षा में पढ़ाया जा सकता है। इ–लर्निंग से दूर बैठे विद्यार्थी भी सस्ती शिक्षा ले सकते हैं।

There was a very big jungle. A large number of animals were living in it and most of them were uneducated. Their population was increasing at a rapid pace, because of which the progress in the jungle had almost stopped.
The lion king, Singhraj, was really worried with the alarming increase in the number of animals.
After discussing the population growth issue with his ministers, Singhraj concluded that the increase in population could be controlled, if more animals are educated.
“How can we provide good education to our animals?” Singhraj asked his ministers.
“It’s really difficult to open a large number of schools in a big jungle like ours. Also, we have only one good teacher – Mastu monkey,” they replied.
It was not possible for Mastu to hold a class of all the animals together. And it was also not possible for Mastu to keep traveling in the large jungle to teach the animals at different places.
“Since education is very important, we need to find a way out,” Singhraj suggested.
Even after many days, no animal could give a workable solution. Then Singhraj decided to take the advice of Mastu.
“This is indeed a serious problem, but can be solved,” Mastu was hopeful.
“How?” asked Singhraj.
“I will teach animals at a single place only. My lectures will be recorded on information storage disks, which will be distributed in different areas of our jungle. We can set up schools equipped with computers at these places. The lecture disks could be used on these computers. And animals would be able to attend the classes as per their convenience in different areas. So my physical presence will not be required in all such schools,” Mastu explained.
Singhraj was very happy. Mastu’s suggestion was immediately implemented. Animals also showed their eagerness to learn with this innovative method. Soon education started spreading throughout the jungle.
And that was a step forward to achieve progress…
Technology: E-learning – With the help of Internet and computers, e-learning eliminates the need of a teacher in a classroom. E-learning can help students even in remote areas get education in a cost-effective way.
